Planning is underway to hold an Air show and Adventure Day at Darwin Airport on the 10th of June 2012.
The tentative venue will be the Aviation Heratige Museum at Darwin Airport and surrounding grounds with an access to the Main Runway for viewing of flying displays
The day will not only encompass aviation but will be supported by displays from many of Darwin’s Motorsport clubs (Drag racing, Speedway, Karting) Historical car clubs, Model aircraft clubs, Surf Lifesaving Association, sports and social interest clubs and others. We will endeavor to have a wide range of exhibits and activities that will cater for enthusiasts, families and children of all ages from Darwin and interstate alike. A focus of this event will be to give as many recreational, sports and different interest clubs and organizations a venue to gain awareness and exposure of their activities and presence in the Darwin community.
We are planning on having activities for children like jumping castles, face painting, Toy world Teddy and the CareFlight bear.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to CareFlight for a local project to enhance patient care that will benefit all Top End Territorian's
A range of different catering and refreshment vendors will be on site to support the event.
